The Electric Daisy Carnival kicks off the music festival season this Memorial Day weekend at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The giant Ferris wheel – a carnival signature- is live and ready to welcome thousands of electronic fans dressed in daisy headbands, furry neon rave boots and dazzled cut-off t-shirts, making it one of the most diverse dance parties in the state.
The lineup includes up and coming artists from all over the country and international veteran DJ’s that will converge on EDC’s four main stages.
On Saturday, May 24, Hardwell, Krewella, 3LAU and Martin Garixx are scheduled to spin at Kinetic Field, from 12 p.m. – 11 p.m. On Sunday, May 25, Tiesto, Adventure Club and Thomas Gold fill up the same time slots.
Afrojack, R3hab, Tommy Trash and Sunnery James will take on the Circuit Grounds stage on Day 1 and Day 2 belongs to Calvin Harris, Steve Angello and Sander Van Doorn.
Bassnectar and DJ Snake will invade the Cosmic Meadow stage while John Digweed, Art Department and Chriss Vargas take center stage at Neon Garden.
Although the EDC site advocates “zero tolerance drug use or possession,” strict security and supervision will take place to monitor fans, especially underage partygoers from bringing illegal substances into the venue.
The two deaths caused by a drug overdose at the Electric Zoo Festival in Randall’s Island last August is a reminder of how dangerous festivals can be if fans act without precaution.
At EDC you never know what is going to happen next and nothing is out of the ordinary when surrounded by crowd surfers, fireworks and impromptu dance crowds.
