This is midway through a series of announced meetings allowing the community and volunteers to interface with Dr. Shadid and catch up on what is going on with his campaign for Mayor of Oklahoma City.
Dr. Ed Shadid is currently the elected official over Ward 2 for the Oklahoma City Council, which is where Grandad's happens to be located, in the heart of Old Route 66 http://www.examiner.com/slideshow/okc-red-dirt-red-hot-spots-route-66-up....
More information can be obtained by signing on to @edshadid or @edshadid.com regarding the schedule for the evening's events, highlights of the campaign, where to buy Ed Shadid campaign gear ( Ed-wear) and how to plug in as a volunteer.
Shadid has recently garnered a solid supporting vote from Oklahoma City firefighters and police (VIDEO http://edshadid.com ), which is quite remarkable given the current City administrator's response to these groups. The recent announcement that Oklahoma is considered to be in the top 10 most dangerous places to live in the United States makes this acknowledgement and alliance all the more important.
Dr. Ed Shadid is a native of Oklahoma City, whose initial trip to college immersed him in political science as a first love.
Now, Dr. Ed Shadid as an advanced practice physician with a surgical specialty, is also the Councilor for Ward 2 in Oklahoma City. Dr. Ed Shadid has a deep and varied investment in improving the City and has further extended his expertise towards improvement by putting his hat in the ring for Mayor of Oklahoma City 2014.
Dr. Ed Shadid's invitation to the community via his position of Ward 2 Councilor has included modeling of quality and exacting assessment of issues and needs, presenting with intentionality, integrity and professionally based principles of performance, culling agency and community supports to progress and developing plans that express the cooperative and inventive spirit of this prairie state now emerging large City.
Dr.Ed Shadid is big on dialogue with the community and amongst community members.
For this part of the country, indeed Dr. Ed Shadid's approach is unique as his critics point out...Oklahoma is a Red State. What Dr. Ed Shadid has chosen, applied and implemented as Ward 2 Councilor stands as best practices in larger, successfully evolved Cities across the US and is an expression of self, exposure, training and education. Come see him at Grandad's for yourself.
