Ed Fallone for WI Supreme Court and about that rock that hit Russia

Bunch of issues in the news:

I am voting for Ed Fallone this Tuesday, February 19th, for the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. The incumbent is an ultra right-winger named Pat Roggensack who is beholden to big business, but wants Wisconsites to think she is independent. She is opposed to open meeting laws among the Wisconsin legislature. I am also endorsing Janet Protasiewicz for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Branch 45 race over Walker appointee Rebecca Bradley.

A meteroite hit Russia, ironically on the same day that a much bigger piece of rock missed the earth by less than 20,000 miles. I am running on my computer a program to help track asteroids in outer space, by their shape and spin, called Asteroid Home. This, hopefully, will help protect our planet from asteroid attacks in the future. The program is part of BOINC, a computer program, whose most famous program is SETI, which is a program to receive alien radio signals.

A rally was held in Washington, D.C. this Sunday in order to spur the nation to limit carbon emissions and to reduce global warming and climate change. I applaud these men and women who are exercising their free speech/assembly rights (35,000 of them in this case) in such a fine cause, but I also applaud anyone and everyone who utilize their rights, even if I oppose that said cause.

Kenneth Fariad (or the Manimal if you prefer) is a a name you should be hearing about more, soon. He is a basketball player with the Denver Nuggets, and he has two moms. Two moms who love him and two moms who he dearly loves. He is a spokesman and supporter for marriage equality for gays and lesbians in the U.S.

He is also maybe the biggest sports athlete to sign a pledge of support with Athlete Ally, a group that urges athletes to offer their support for gay or potential gay teammates.. Oh, Mr. Fariad just won the MVP of the rookie/sophomore All Star game weekend. Not bad. Hopefully more big things with be happening for him.
