The Eco Oscars 2013, in conjunction with the Jamaican Tourist Board, honor the 85th Academy Awards nominees with a James Bond theme for this year's sustainable event this weekend, February 22 and 23, at a private Beverly Hills estate. It's a known fact to Bond fans that Ian Fleming wrote all 14 Bond novels in Jamaica. Another fact is that this year’s Oscar nominated Bond film "Skyfall" is the most nominated Bond ever with five categories of nominations.
While enjoying the goodwill and gifts of Eco-Oscars 2013’ sustainable sponsors, honorees will be surrounded by the sounds, smells and tastes of Jamaica. Coley's Cuisine will cook up original Jamaican foods plus signature cocktails. Spotlight sponsor Lifeway Foods will host a frozen dessert bar with assorted toppings as well as gift certificates for free pints of tangy Kefir.
Live Music Artist performances will benefit Eco-Oscar’s 2013 charity partner “We Rock Green Mics,” of “With Our Words, Inc.’s” eco-performance youth collective from Stockton, California. Their “Green Celebrity Writing Prompts Project” inspires ecological awareness through artistry and literacy. Stockton’s at-risk students transform eco-themed ideas from entertainment industry stars into original performance poetry.
Oscar nominees expected to attend the Eco-Oscars 2013 include Alan Arkin, Arianne Sutner, Chris Butler, Dario Marinelli, Jacqueline Durran, Katie Spencer, Lucy Alibar, Malik Bendjelloul, Roman Coppola, Sam Fell, Sarah Greenwood, Seamus McGarvey, Shawn Christensen, and Travis Knight, plus Alice Amter, Arianne Zucker, Bret Lockett, Carolyn Hennesy, Carrie Keagan, Chelsea Autumn, Erin Murphy, GG, Jeanine Mason, Judi Shekoni, Kaya Jones, Kelly Hu, Mark Bridges, Matt Nolan, Richard Middleton, Richard Portnow, Sally Kirkland, Sophia Milos, Tahj Mowry and Tia Carrere.
