The echo Art Fair returns for a third year in Buffalo, with the two-day juried fine art fair taking place September 7th and 8th at the Downtown Central Library.
The goal of echo Art Fair is to connect experienced collectors and first-time buyers with established and emerging local, regional and international artists in a centralized and creative environment, according to the fair’s website, www.echoartfair.com. The fair will showcase many different types of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, print, works on paper, video and mixed media. It has grown from a one-day event drawing more than 3,000 visitors in 2011 to a two-day event in 2012, drawing more than 10,000 visitors; artists and galleries submitting entries to the fair jumped from 90 in 2011 to 170 in 2012.
On Friday, September 6th, there will be a VIP party at the Downtown Library from 6 to 8 p.m., with attendees having an early chance to purchase works; there will also be food and beverages from local companies including Nickel City Cheese & Merchantile, Press Juice, Delish!, Arrowhead Spring Vineyards and Try-It Distributing. Tickets are $75 and available through the above-mentioned website. There is also a “dance party infused with visuals arts” called the Coup d’etat taking place Friday night from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at The Waiting Room, 334 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo – admission is $10 at the door.
echo Art Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days; admission is $5 on Saturday and free on Sunday. Get a complete schedule and more information about the fair at the website mentioned above.
