The fourth annual echo Art Fair will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 6th and 7th at the Buffalo and Erie County Central Library in downtown Buffalo. Hours for the fair are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, with a $5 admission fee.
The site-specific portion of the fair, introduced in 2012, will feature 12 installations in and around the Central Library as well as three installations at Canalside on Buffalo’s waterfront.
“Public art is the newest addition to Canalside and we couldn't be more proud to support and host the echo @ Canalside art installations,” said Erie County Harbor Development Corporation Chairman Robert Gioia. “With hundreds of events scheduled throughout the summer, we are still creating new opportunities and public activities, and we invite the public to come down, vote for your favorite art installation and have some fun on Buffalo’s beautiful waterfront.”
There will also be some new initiatives for the 2014 fair, including ARTech Lab, a technology/art maker space in partnership with Employii, The Foundry and Buffalo Lab; a Cultural Corridor, where local non-profit organizations working in the fine arts will have a presence at the fair; a Public Art Tour hosted by Explore Buffalo; and an art critique workshop led by Bushwick Art Crit Group.
A VIP preview party will be held Friday, September 5th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Library, featuring local vendors, and the opportunity to purchase artwork ahead of the Fair. Tickets are $75 per person and available here. The previous link also features schedule highlights for the weekend – get more details at www.echoartfair.com.
