The Stockton Thunder gave up the rights to goalie Cody Reichard in the team’s only move as the ECHL’s trade deadline passed on Thursday (Mar. 7).
The Thunder sent Reichard’s ECHL rights to the Florida Everblades in exchange for future considerations. The move won’t affect Stockton’s current roster as Reichard has been with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League since Feb. 17.
Before being loaned to Houston, Reichard appeared in 27 games with the Thunder this season. In those games, Reichard was 13-8-5 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 2.64 and a save percentage of .911. He was honored with the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week award in early December.
The Thunder will be in action on Friday night, when the Las Vegas Wranglers visit Stockton Arena. Those teams will meet again Saturday night at the same site, and the Ontario Reign will visit Stockton Arena on Sunday.
The Thunder will enter play Friday four points ahead of the Wranglers for fourth place in the ECHL’s Western Conference and second place in the Pacific Division. The top four teams in the conference at the end of the regular season will enjoy home-ice advantage in the opening round of the upcoming Kelly Cup playoffs.
