Eccoci Boca Park in Las Vegas presented an outdoor fashion show highlighting holiday glitter and gown glamour during the recent Pink In The Park benefit fundraiser for Send Me On Vacation (SMOV), a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to sending breast cancer survivors on vacations. Eccoci also held money raising raffles and offered free wardrobe consultations.
Pink in the Park presented at Fashion Village at Boca Park was held in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a goal to send five Las Vegas breast cancer survivors on paid vacations to rejuvenate their mind, body and spirit. Send Me On Vacation was launched in 2010 with the mission to provide a vacation to women with cancer who have undergone treatment.
The afternoon also included a concert with two Las Vegas talents hosting the show outside of the Eccoci store. Jack Walker is a world-renowned vocal entertainer and Rhayne Thomas a singer and author. Top performers, musicians, comedians and magicians entertained all afternoon while money was raised for the cause.
Currently the organization uses 98 percent of all donations to send recipients on vacations. What’s unique about the program is that supporters can see the immediate results of the work being done for each woman they fund. Each survivor is encouraged to send postcards, photos and share their vacation experience with the group / supporter. It only takes $1,500 to change the life of a survivor. For some women it’s the break they need after chemotherapy, surgery, heavy drug therapy or radiation is completed, and for others, well it’s a sacred vacation memory with their family or friends that they will leave behind.
