There are a few niches out there that have a cult like following, meaning that the community of fans are highly obsessed with that specific niche. For example, you may see this with movies e.g. Back to the Future, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fargo, and many more.
I recently found another niche that has this type of following, and I was surprised at the demand! This niche is the WWF, World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE). I must admit, back when I was a youngster I was amazed with the high flying, action packed, and entertaining wrestlers in the WWF. For Christmas one year I even received tickets to go to Wrestlemania. I was only 10 at the time, but I wish I would have had the mindset to save some of the souvenirs to sell on eBay as an adult.
You may now be thinking that WWF memorabilia sells really well on eBay, and yes this is true, but there is a more easily found type of item that can make you the big bucks. I was shopping at Goodwill not to long ago, and I found a WWF Hulk Hogan lunch box with thermos. This was exciting, and it prompted me to look up WWF on eBay’s completed listings. As I was doing my research, I was surprised at what I found. I found that WWF VHS tapes can sell for a lot of money!
I quickly ran over to the large section of VHS tapes at Goodwill, and sitting right next to each other were two used VHS Wrestlemainia tapes. I bought them both for $1, and I sold one for $20 and the other for $10. Not a bad profit, but some WWF VHS tapes sell for a lot more!
This is one type of item that I would have completely looked over before, but now I make it a normal routine to quickly look through the VHS tapes for this product. It’s not something that you will find every trip to a thrift store, but it’s more common than you would think. VHS tapes are not dead, so make sure you are checking them out when you are sourcing for inventory!
