It's been almost 19 years since west coast founding father, Eric "Eazy-E" Wright passed away, but his music and his legend are in good shape thanks to the same friends and family that blessed the "Hip Hop Thugsta" during his time on this Earth.
Now, some of those same loved ones are coming together to put together a tribute album and this time fans can get involved as well.
Sergio Hernandez, the man in charge of the project, has launched a KickStarter for the project, giving fans the opportunity to be a part of one of the most heralded legacies in hip hop.
The project is called Ruthless Family: Disciples of E, and will feature brand new music from Big Hutch, AKA Cold 187um, Kokane, BG Knocc Out, Dirty Red, Rhythm D, Loesta, Steffon and ALT The Saint.
Sergio, who held a 50th Birthday party for Eazy-E earlier this year, calls the project a dream come true.
"It has always been a dream of myself and many other fans to hear an album which features the Ruthless family," said Sergio in a statement released to Examiner.com. He continued, "After many years of daydreaming and getting to know and work with some of these artists, the time is finally here to create and release this epic album.
Sergio also noted that the album will drop June 16th, regardless of whether or not their financial goals are met.
