Heating healthy is important for a healthy lifestyle. Consuming clean foods is an added benefit. Knowing what foods can provide your system a naturally detoxification process without having to medicate yourself is the best way to remain healthy and in control of your system.

Foods that cleanse and have naturally detoxifying properties

Artichokes contain an antioxidant compound called caffeoylquinic acid. This compound is usual to the treatment of hepatic disorders which affects the liver. When this compound is introduced it affects the flow of bile in the body. Bile is the substance that aids the body to digest fats and helps eliminate the body of inflammatory substances that are usually found in fatty foods.

Avocados provide the body with glutathione and heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids. This compound helps block the absorption of fats through the intestines that can cause oxidative damage while cleaning the path of the liver.

Beets contain plant pigments called betalains that provide anti-inflammatory as well as fungicidal properties to the body. This compound is also the reason beets get their dark red coloring. The betalains aid the liver through repair and regeneration as well as promote cell structure.

Broccoli is known for its antioxidant properties. Consuming this cruciferous vegetable it helps reduce the risk of some cancers. Other cruciferous vegetables that are just as beneficial to the body as broccoli are Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage and kale.

Collard greens help maintain or lower LDL “bad” cholesterol levels. These greens increase the body’s bile acid binding mechanism which binds lipid molecules and excretes any leftover bile acids from the body’s gastrointestinal tract “GI”.

Dill is good for you since it contains a rich source of vitamins and anti-inflammatory chemicals. Those chemicals aid with the activation of glutathione which is a liver antioxidant that attaches to the free radical molecules in the body and disarms them.

Fennel is a good source of vitamin C. It also contains antioxidants and antimicrobial properties, is high in fiber, a great cleaning food and very low in calories.

Green tea has the most antioxidants than any other type of tea. Drinking green tea acts in two ways and contains caffeine. It is energizing and also acts as a natural diuretic which helps alleviate bloating caused by water retention.

Lemon is a super source of vitamin C and contains a bounty of antioxidants.

Onion and garlic contain flavonoids that stimulate the production of the liver antioxidant glutathione. These two vegetables have a powerful way to help boost immune systems and contain anti-bacterial properties regardless of their pungent odor and flavors.

Yogurt fortifies the GI tract naturally with probiotics from the healthy bacteria it contains. This increases the flora in the gastrointestinal tract, provides a natural boost the immune system and helps with digestion.
