Dare to stay healthy this holiday season. By eating nutritious food and exercising daily, weight gain can be avoided. All that is needed is will-power and determination.

At the next holiday party, nibble on raw vegetables such as carrots, celery and broccoli instead of chips and dip. Eat a rainbow of fruit instead of desserts. Limit eggnog to a half cup and skip the alcohol. Also, avoid socializing next to the buffet or hor dourves table. It is too tempting.

Before going to the party, eat small portions throughout the day to avoid overeating at the party. Starving yourself before the party will lead to weight gain. So, drink plenty of water in the morning and eat a balanced meal.

It may be too cold to exercise outdoors. Yet, take walks around the neighborhood and enjoy the holiday decorations. Stay hydrated and bundle up in layered clothing. While indoors, dance, dance and dance some more. The goal is to stay active and fit.

Have a wonderful holiday season! Stay fit and fabulous!
