According to an article on Style List, eating like a man can help women lose weight. This might sound crazy, but we know men do lose weight faster than women. Jim White, a dietitian and personal trainer from Virginia Beach, Virginia says it's not crazy. Instead, it is the answer everyone has been looking for. White tells us in laymen's term how eating like a man might just be what women need to do. That means drinking beers, eating steaks, and foods with full fat.

White, owner of Jim White Fitness & Nutrition Studios, is convinced that eating like a man can help women lose weight. He explains when you restrict your diet, you're more likely to overeat before you start and binge as soon as you finish. Most men just don't have a crash diet mentality like women, and they're better off for it. When you're cutting yourself off from certain foods and calorie counts for a period of time, you're just asking for those binge meals.

The dietitian and personal trainer also says that foods that are labeled "diet" or "low calorie" often aren't as satisfying, and it's simply because they're cutting out the fat and often, protein. This mean you'll feel less full and will want to snack again sooner. Not only that, but the foods might have elevated levels of sodium and sugar to make up for the loss of flavor by removing the fat, and that's not a good thing. Swap the low-cal, low-nutrition foods with unprocessed foods that will fill you up and curb your cravings even if they do have a bit more fat or calories than your so-called "diet" foods.

White suggests that if women want to lose weight, they need to do what men do by focusing on the quality of ingredients they eat while trying to keep a good balance of fats, carbs, protein and greens. White advises women not to cut anything out. Instead, just eat a balanced amount of it.

Protein has essential vitamins your body needs in order to lose weight, and it helps you stay feeling full which will stop excess snacking. If you are not a meat eater, just add more beans and nuts to your diet. Drink a beer instead of a mixed drink while you're out with friends. This will also help fill you up and prevent that side order of fries. Mixed drinks are full of sugars and calories. Also, the naturally occurring flavonoids in beer's hops increase muscle mass by preventing tissue breakdown, and more muscle means a faster metabolism.

While men are often eating around the house, women don't eat as often. Men are doing it right because they are keeping their metabolisms stoked and burning calories like crazy. People shouldn't go more than four hours without eating because the body thinks it's starving and responds by slowing down the metabolism and hanging onto any calories it can. Try to eat something every four hours. This also sounds crazy, but you must eat food in order to lose weight.
