Eat at Chez Jose this Monday night and benefit a Portland Public School

Chez Jose Mexican Cafe is the place to be this Monday February 25, with 10% of all dine-in, to-go and gift certificate sales between 4 and 9 p.m. to be donated to the Bridlemile Foundation. The Bridlemile Foundation's sole purpose is to raise money to fund extra teaching positions, support staff and to continue music, PE and library at Bridlemile School in SW Portland.

Chez Jose has a storied history in the Burlingame neighborhood of SW PDX. The restaurant celebrated its 25-year anniversary last year, despite the building on SW Terwilliger having burned to the ground in 2001. Owners Tom Midrano and Howie Schechter, former bartenders at the beloved SW Portland institution Veritable Quandary, aka VQ, built it back and opened a NE location as well. When they closed the NE location a few years back, the staff was hired to work at the SW location so they wouldn't skip a beat.

Chez Jose is a family-friendly restaurant with many kids items on its menu including our favorite, the "chimi-dog" and is located at 8502 SW Terwilliger Blvd, Portland OR.
