Next week in Boston and Dedham, everyone visiting Kings Bowl in the Back Bay and Legacy Place and will have a free "out of this world" experience that celebrates the restaurant and bowling alley's recent launch of their "out of this world" cheeseburger into space! That launch went rogue and wound up headed to Cape Cod.It's free cheeseburgers from noon to 10 p.m.
September 18 is National Cheeseburger Day and Kings began celebrating on Sept. 9 when a group of employees attached a cheeseburger to a weather ballon, sending it 95,000 ft. into the stratosphere before it floated back to earth on a parachute and, in a funny twist, landed offshore of Chatham on Cape Cod. Kings is offering a $1,000 reward to the lucky fan who tracks it down, retrieves it and brings it to Kings.
"Let them eat cheeseburgers," says The Lyons Group's Patrick Lyons, in sharp contract to Marie Antoinette, the French queen, who dismissed her subjects' concern about their inability to buy food with a sharp "Let them eat cake!"
Cheeseburgers like these don't come along every day! They're a mix of sirloin, chuck and beef brisket, perfectly melted American cheese, fresh shredded lettuce, tomato and special sauce, served on a soft toasted potato roll. It's cooked on a flat top grill and served juicy and hot.
If you're drooling now, wait until Sept. 18 and head for Kings Bowl. The offer is also good at Kings' Rosemont, IL location. In Boston, they're at 50 Dalton St. and in Dedham, at 500 Legacy Place. There's also an Orlando location and a fifth opening soon in Lynnfield, MA, with a sixth to follow in Burlington, MA in 2013. The restaurants feature classic American menus and nostalgic desserts, a full bar and of course, the bowling alley. So score your free cheeseburger on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at your favorite location.
