Eat a cranberry day

Today is National Eat a Cranberry Day. Who says you have to wait for Thanksgiving to eat cranberries? Here is a recipe from for Cranberry Pumpkin Cookies.
½ cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsps. Baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1Tbsp. orange zest
½ cup chopped walnuts

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.
2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Beat in vanilla, egg, and pumpkin. Mix the flour, baking powder and soda, salt, and cinnamon. Combine. Cut the cranberries in half and stir into the mixture. Add orange zest and walnuts. Drop teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 10 to 12 min.
