Easy rum balls

Rum balls are super easy to make and are really chocolate-y and delicious. This recipe is made with Oreos instead of Nilla wafers so the filling gives them a truffle-like quality. After combining all the ingredients, the mixture will be sticky, so wet your hands or butter your palms before rolling them into balls. Bourbon can substitute for rum in this recipe, although stick with the same amount called for in the recipe-don't go over or the rum balls will become a bigger sticky mess than they already are. It is best to use amber or dark rum for flavor, but these could also be made with clear rum if flavor isn't a variable. These really taste better if left for at least a few days so the flavors have time to soften. Store the rum balls in a covered container in the refrigerator but bring them to room temperature before serving. For the complete recipe, find it on Chowhound.
