Easy Going Bear needs a Fur-Ever Home

The following article is part of an ongoing effort to help homeless dogs in and around the Toronto/Hamilton area find suitable and loving homes. Sometimes, we reach out even further if there is an urgent need. Currently, the need is great but the homes are few. Your help is desperately needed.

Grand River All Breed Rescue of Cambridge, Ontario is currently providing a foster home for Bear, a Pug/Pomeranian mix but he really needs a fur-ever home.

Bear is about 30 lbs, 2 ½ years old and one happy fellow. He loves human companionship and will follow you around or sit down beside you. He knows his name and is keen to learn new things. He tends to pull on a leash but this is being worked on.

He loves to run, play and wrestle with another dog in the foster home. He also likes playing ball with the other dogs in the house. Although he is quite lively, he has never caused any damage when left alone in the house.

Due to his thick coat, he needs to be brushed regularly. Any new owner should also be aware that this fellow tries to sneak out of the door and once out he will run. Always put his leash on before opening the door. His ideal home should also have a back yard where he can run and play.

He is spayed, up-to-date on his routine shots, heartworm tested, housetrained and micro-chipped. If you are interested in adopting Bear, fill out the Application Form on the website and email to grandriverrescue@hotmail.com. Be sure to put ‘Pet Inquiry: Bear PFId#21681455’ in the subject line or call 519.650.9228.
