Therapist Krista Holt-Shippey created a guided meditation to help us visualize the life we want. This Examiner meditates regularly and has used many guided meditations over the years but had never experienced anything like what Holt-Shippey developed. This is the first meditation we’ve encountered that really helped us see and feel how we want life to be – complete with sights and sounds and all the senses to really get into the feeling of where we want to be.
Many, many authors and coaches recommend visualizing how we want our lives to be, but this is typically easier said than done. Holt-Shippey's meditation makes it really easy to visualize everything. It also boosted our mood and got us excited about what we could do to reach goals in many areas of life – everything from relationships to career.
In this first of a series of YouTube videos called Shine that we hope will inspire and empower you, Holt-Shippey leads a 15-minute version of the meditation so you can experience this visualization. We hope you find it beneficial and it helps you get clear on the direction you want your life to move in to make it easier for you to get where you want to be. We also discuss why visualization is so helpful and what to do if you feel guilty about what you visualize.
