Chili is a great way to feed a crowd, especially on game day. This recipe is not only tasty, but cooks unattended, allowing everyone to enjoy the game.

Hearty Chili recipe:

8 strips of bacon
1 pound ground beef
1 pound pork sausage
1/2 cup chopped onion

4 15 ounce cans of beans: 2 kidney, 1 white and 1 black
1 14.5 ounce can stewed tomatoes
1 14.5 ounce diced tomatoes (can use fire roasted if preferred)

1 cup beer
1 32 ounce box of beef broth

2 tablespoon dark chocolate powder (or syrup)
2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Salt and pepper to taste

Grated cheese
Sour cream
Diced onions

Cook the bacon until crisp, move to a paper towel.
Brown beef, pork and onion in the bacon drippings

While the meat is cooking:
Open and pour the cans of beans into a colander and rinse / cut the bacon into nice size pieces.

Move the beans, ground meat and bacon to the crockpot. Add in the remaining ingredients and mix together.

Cook on high for 4/6 hours or on low for 8/10 hours

Serve with corn bread.
