A slouchy hat or slouchy beanie is an easy way to crochet a quick gift that is both warming and in style. The pattern I crocheted as shown in the photos was made quickly using a free pattern I found to download on Craftsy called the Sundance Slouchy Hat Pattern.
Slouchy hats are very popular right now and they can be made in a variety of colors and styles with different yarns and patterns. Hats can be crocheted with a brim or without one, made with stripes or different colors of yarns, or can be crocheted in lightweight or with bulky yarns.
When it comes to crocheting a slouchy hat pattern the possibilities are endless and whichever pattern you choose to crochet a hat with it can always be modified to fit your creativity.
When closing the top of a beanie it is typical to use a large needle or singles and at the top of the hat bring center front and center back of beanie together. Next you would either single crochet or sew the hat closed.
