Easy cake bar recipe

If you know someone who prefers cakes over cookies, try these cake bars out on them! It is a great combination of both. There are three types of chips added to these bars, as always if you prefer one over the other, feel free to customize these to your taste.

Cake Bars

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 tbsp amaretto powdered coffee creamer
  • 2 shakes of ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350*. Line a 9x13 baking dish with no stick foil.

Mix together the first 5 ingredients into a large bowl.

Add the next 3 ingredients.

Batter will be very stiff. Spread batter into prepared pan. It may not cover completely but this is OK. As it bakes it will grow.

Bake for 14-17 minutes. It will be lightly browned and pull away from the sides of the pan when it is done. Check to see if it is done by inserting a tooth pick into the center. If it comes out clean, with a few crumbs stuck to it, it is done. If batter is still wet, return it to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes until it is cooked.
