Mom’s Dish

8 oz. spaghetti
1 tsp. sesame oil
¼ cup water
1 tbsp. beef bullion
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar oil
1 lb. beef
2 carrots
2 cups broccoli
1 onion
4 garlic cloves

Break the raw spaghetti in half so the noodles aren’t quite so long. Cook according to package instructions in salted water. Drain and rinse, then stir in the sesame oil to the pasta. Bring the ¼ cup water to a boil and crumble the bullion and brown sugar into the water. Stir until dissolved. Add in the soy sauce and remove from heat.

In a skillet, cook the beef lightly on each side. Slice into cubes and finish cooking through. Add the soy sauce mixture into the skillet and cook for another minute. Remove the beef from the skillet. Dice veggies and mince garlic; add this to the empty skillet and sauté (add in the onions first, then the carrots, then broccoli, and finally the garlic). In a dish, toss together the noodles, beef, and veggies. Serve!
