Looking for an easy appetizer to take to a picnic? Looking for something that fits in with the whole 4th of July theme? Well, here it is – the perfect red and white appetizer! If you like cheesecake, you will love these wonderful little appetizers. They taste just like strawberry cheesecake. Better yet, they may be the easiest appetizer in the world – pile three ingredients on a cracker and voila – you have a delicious appetizer that looks wonderfully on any buffet table. You can make a whole tray of them in a matter of minutes, and your family and friends will be amazed!

This is one of those recipes that you will want to have in your collection. It’s so easy; it’s so good, and everyone loves it! You can serve it as an appetizer or you can put it on a dessert table – either way it will fit right in. Whether it is a holiday party or a summer party, this is a beautiful addition.

Since strawberries are available any time of year, it’s not necessary to serve them only in the summer. In fact, since strawberries have been defined as a “super food”, you will want to include them on your menu as much as possible. Filled with Vitamin C and antioxidants, strawberries are a perfect addition to any meal.

And don’t forget that cream cheese comes in a low-fat version. If you want to cut down a little bit on the calories, this is a good alternative.

Strawberry Appetizer Recipe

Ingredients for Strawberry Appetizer:

  • 8-oz. package cream cheese
  • Brown sugar
  • Trisket crackers, original flavor
  • Strawberries, washed, hulled and cut in half

Directions for making Strawberry Appetizers:

Cut the cream cheese into little squares. Roll each square of cream cheese (both sides) in the brown sugar, liberally coating it. Place the cream cheese square on top of a Trisket – top the cream cheese with a strawberry half; push down just a little bit (but not too much so you don't squash the strawberry!) Enjoy!!
