Eastpointe woman shot to death, husband and vehicle missing

A 33-year-old Eastpointe woman was found dead in her home Saturday, a gunshot wound to her chest. Family and friends will hold a candlelight vigil for the popular woman tonight at 6:00 PM.

Eastpointe police received a call to perform a welfare check on Christina Webster at her home in the 23000 block of David Avenue, near Kelly Road and Gratiot.

Officers found the door unlocked and let themselves in. There they found Webster, dead at the scene.

Webster and her husband Anthony owned a small but successful business called the Big Top Popcorn shop. But the police can’t find Anthony, whom they consider a person of interest.

The woman’s vehicle is also gone.

Police are trying to find the white 2000 Lexus RX 300 SUV, license number CHA 5821.

The husband is urged to contact the police as soon as possible, as he is wanted for questioning.

Anyone else who knows anything about this homicide is urged to call the Eastpointe police department at (586) 445-5100 or Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK UP.
