Easton looks for another upset in class D boys semifinal clash with Hodgdon

Bangor--- Hunter Turner scored 22 points and Logan Halvorson hit 4 three pointers as the Easton Bears shocked Eastern Maine basketball fans when they defeated Jonesport-Beals 55-53 at the Bangor Auditorium in a quarterfinal game Monday evening.

The Bears will need to pull off another upset if they are going to advance to the class D regional final.

Easton (16-4) the eight seed will take on fifth seeded Hodgdon in a semifinal game Thursday evening at 8:35 p.m.

Two of the four losses for the Hawks came against the Shiretowners of Houlton who are the top seed in class C.

Hodgdon (16-4) defeated Limestone 47-33 in a preliminary round game. The Hawks defeated Katahdin 58-53 in a quarterfinal game.

Washburn (19-1) will take on Central Aroostook (15-5) in the first boys semifinal game at 7 p.m. in the first class D boys semifinal game.

Washburn defeated Van Buren 91-54 in the preliminary round. The Beavers got by Bangor Christian in a quarterfinal thriller 70-69.

Central Aroostook went to overtime in a 62-55 prelim victory over Schenck. The Panthers advanced in the quarterfinal round with a 67-56 victory over Katahdin.
