Fitness enthusiasts have gotten their workout mojos on for 75 years at Hollywood’s Easton Gym Co., named the best boutique gum by Los Angeles Magazine, and now they can have their exercise and eat healthy, too. The company just opened Mojo Cafe below the facility to fuel its buff bodied clients with healthy selections.
Along with the attraction of free WiFi, the eat-in/take-out café offers Blue Bottle Coffee (single origin beans from the San Francisco roaster (www.bluebottlecoffee.com), pressed juices, protein smoothies and blendies (blends of fresh fruits, veggies and other organic ingredients), Serendipitea (fair trade organic tea), lavender lemonade (made in-house with fresh-squeezed lemons) and Tcho Chocolate (fair trade, organic, luxury chocolate, used in all mochas and also sold by the bar).
To fuel buff bodied customers the café dishes out a variety of grab ‘n go food (chicken breast kale salad, chicken salad, turkey wraps, Athens salad, etc.), Short Cake (local farmers market-based bakery, featuring gluten free and vegan options) and Skinny Genius Granola, which owner David Shadle describes as “unbelievably delicious!”
Mojo Café is the brainchild of partners David Shadle and Toby Johnson, who sought to “improve the experience of our gym clientele and to bring a healthy alternative to our neighborhood that we have been a part of for 75 years,” says Shadle.
The restaurant, which is located at 8051 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. For more information, please visit http://mojostrong.com.
