This Saturday, the Easton Farmers' Market will takes it business indoor until April 26th of the new year. The winter version of the market will be held at the former Weller Health Education Center building located on 325 Northampton Street.
The farmers' market moves indoor every winter and last year was held at the Nurture Nature Center, located at 518 Northampton Street. The new site offers greater space for vendors and shoppers, features metered parking behind the building, and is closer the downtown business district and the Centre Square Circle, which intersects Third and Northampton Streets.
The Winter Mart will feature 36 vendors; which consists of the older established venues and other brand new offerings. In addition there will be more and varied food options and a larger amount of fresh farm produce available, taking advantage of the building's larger spaces.
The farmers' market will use this to improve its own vitality, but it also will help with achieving its secondary mission: stimulating the downtown Easton economy by bringing brand new shoppers to the area.
The Weller building still houses offices used by the organization, but also features four auditoriums that can be used to enhance the Winter Mart. There will be health and wellness forums held, children's programming offered, award winning local short film screened, and a green screen area that will be used to create background scenes for holiday e-cards and videos.
