The Easton Bears boys basketball team was trailing by 13 points late in the game on the road to the number one team in the MPA class D heal point standings on Thursday night.
Logan Halvorson hit one free throw with two seconds remaining to cap off the Bears 54-53 comeback victory over the Central Aroostook Panthers at Mars Hill.
"It was a complete team effort," Easton coach Dillon Kingsbury said. "We could have folded when we were down by 13 late in the game but it showed our teams toughness that we could claw our way back into the game and win."
Hunter Turner led the Bears with 18 points. Jarred Hafford added 17 while Connor Burtt chipped in with 16 points.
The Bears are now on a five game winning streak and have a 13-3 record with two games remaining in the regular season.
They will finish the regular season with games at Van Buren on Tuesday and at Washburn on Friday. Easton is currently 6th in the class D standings.
