Bangor, ME-- On a very exciting day at the Bangor Auditorium, the most excitement came from the finale Monday evening.

That is when the #8 seed Easton Bears shocked Jonesport-Beals and high school basketball fans in Eastern Maine.

The Bears held off the defending state champions for a 55-53 quarterfinal victory.

Easton will take on Hodgdon in a class D semifinal game Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Hodgdon defeated Deer Isle-Stonington 58-53.

Mitch Worcester scored 27 of his 34 points in the second half to lead the Washburn Beavers to a 70-69 victory over Bangor Christian Monday morning.

Washburn will take on Central Aroostook Thursday in a semifinal game Thursday at 7.

Central Aroostook defeated Katahdin 67-56.

The Washburn girls also advanced to the semifinals. The Beavers defeated Limestone 65-44.

Washburn will take on Machias in a semifinal game on Thursday.
