While it may not feel like spring out there quite yet, technically it is and that means the begining of the racing season. There are several options this weekend for area races so get out there and getting running.

Saturday is the big day around the area. There are several races in the city and quite a few in the suburbs. Here are a few of your choices:

Bunny Rock 5k. This race is at Diversey Harbor and all race participants get a t-shirt, sunglasses, and bunny ears. The race starts at 9am and you can get all the information at http://www.bunnyrock5k.com/.

Run for the Cheetah 5k. Also at 9am on Saturday is the annual Run for the Cheetah. The race will take place at Montrose Harbor. You can register online at www.runforthecheetah.org or register on race day.

Wrigley Start Early 5k and 10k. This race is in Grant Park. The 5k begins at 9:10 and the 10k begins at 9:15.

5k for Earth Day. This race goes through Humboldt Park and begins earlier than most with a start time of 8am. Register online at http://www.earthday5kchicago.com/.

In the suburbs there are multiple options on Saturday, including a half marathon in Schaumburg and 5ks in Palos Heights and Huntley. If you like to be slightly different, try the Old School 4 mile run in Libertyville, which is part of the Chicago Trail Series.

You definitely have choices for a Saturday race and if you live in the city, you pretty much can just pick an area of town and go run a race.
