Easter Parables of Jesus, part 2 (Photos)

A parable is a short story designed to teach a truth or illustrate a moral principle. Jesus used them frequently to teach. A number of free script resources are available for puppet or people skits that will bring the parable to the stage. Check out the following from Applebee’s Bible Portaportal, TeachersPayTeachers, Fools for Christ and Puppet Resources:

  • Forgiveness -Based on Matthew 18 when Peter asks how many times he should forgive, Jesus answers with a parable. This reader's theater script has flexible casting for 7-9 (doubling possible) and a run time of 3 minutes.
  • Prodigal Daughter – a modern day female version of the parable from Luke 15. Emphasizes we are loved and saved by a relationship, not be works or worthiness. Puppet doubling possible.
  • Parable of The Talents – 5 three minute versions of Matthew 25:14-30 using ships, sports cars, pet sitting, fish and time.
  • Parable of the Talents matching columns game
