It's not the famous London Easter Egg Hunt or Sea World's yearly event, but it promises to be fun, while supporting local charities.

Christus Louisiana Athletic Club, off Viking Drive in Bossier City, will be the site of Easter Fun on Saturday, April 12, 2014. A giant Easter Egg hunt is planned beginning at 9:15 am, and best of all, admission is free. There will be more than 2,000 eggs and hunting areas will be assigned for various age groups to keep things fair. Afterwards, enjoy a free cupcake.

In addition, there will be a 5K Bunny Run that starts at 8:30 am. The top three winners in the men's and women's divisions will win cash prizes of $250, $150 and $100 respectively, and participants will receive a great t-shirt. Register at irunthestreets.com. At 8:00 am there will be a fun run for kids. The winners in the boy's and girl's divisions will win memberships to SciPort, Louisiana's Science Center. All child participants will get a custom event medal. There will also be an area set up to take the perfect Spring family photo.

It's all part of Child Abuse Awareness month, and benefits the Gingerbread House - Bossier/Caddo Child Advocacy Center and the Cara Center, organizations that help abused and neglected children.
