Easter 2014: Will Costco stores be open or closed on Easter Sunday?

While some celebrate Easter as a holy day, others think of it as another day to catch up on errands, including shopping. One of the biggest retailers here in the Bay Area is Costco. The store is open almost every day but not Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.

Costco is an unusual store because it celebrates some holidays but not others. For example, the warehouse store is open on Presidents Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day but is closed on other major holidays.

Costco holidays

The remaining Costco holidays in 2014 are Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day (AKA 4th of July) Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day 2015. But once again, Costco remains open on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day in January, Presidents Day and other holidays not mentioned above.

So Costco shoppers, make sure you stock up on those chocolate bunnies, Easter eggs, jelly beans, peeps, Easter ham and the fix'ins before Easter Sunday. Costco will not be open The warehouse club store closes each and every Easter Sunday. So relax and enjoy the day or find some place else to shop.
