East coast food recall alert!

This morning, February 27, 2014, the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Services issued a warning and recall of Sun Hing Foods, Incorporated made Canadian liver pate. The full recall can be seen at the Food Safety News website.

The reason for the recall is the fact the product was not inspected before shipment.

The following Sun Hing Foods, Inc., products are subject to recall:

2.75-oz. and 4.76-oz. packages of “FLOWER ® BRAND, LIVER PÂTÉ / PÂTÉ DE FOIE” bearing case code “215960.”
4.76-oz. packages of “FORTUNE ® BRAND, LIVER SPREAD / PÂTÉ DE FOIE” bearing case code “215960.”

According to the recall, the product was shipped for resale to the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.
