Philadelphia International Airport is already reporting flight delays up to four hours Monday due to winter storm Maximus which is slamming the coast with cold and snow.

The staff at JFK have already started setting out cots and pillows in the expectation that there will be many stranded travelers looking for a place to rest at the airport.

The Weather Channel reports that much of the weather will affect the Philadelphia and New York areas, but cautions Boston to be prepared for weather as well.

The effect of flight delays at the East-coast airports will undoubtedly affect flight across the nation, as the ripple effect of delays occurs at international airports from Chicago to Denver.

If you are flying in to or out of New York or Philadelphia today, be prepared for delays and cancellations.
