East Brookfield Pit Bull finds a forever home

Blake, the Pit Bull, who was tossed from a car near the Second Chance Animal Shelter in East Brookfield really did get his second chance.  Just a couple short weeks after being dumped on the side of the road and left to fend for himself, a family who had seen the widely-publicized story online or on TV came forward and applied to adopt the pup.

Blake's new family says he was brought to meet them while chewing on a bone, he was chewing on the bone and the visitors simply took the bone out of his mouth.  "He just wagged his tail and was so happy, where most dogs would be growling at you." the new owner said, in an interview with NECN's John Moroney.

You can read Moroney's article, and see the video, here:  http://www.necn.com/01/02/12/Abused-pit-bull-gets-second-chance/landing_newengland.html?blockID=623284&feedID=4206

The new family knows that Pit Bulls in general have a "bad rap", and they are hoping to help bring awareness to the fact that not all Pit Bulls should be put into such a stereotypical and generalized category.  It is their hope to give Blake a "good life, and maybe use him as an ambassador to show that pit bulls are really great dogs." according to Moroney's article.

We hope to hear updates on Blake's new life and see him around town as a Pit Bull Ambassador.

A happy ending, for what began as a very sad story.
