Mario Caya was a man on a mission. He had a revolutionary idea for a golf tee and he couldn't be stopped.
His BIRTEE PRO® golf tees are designed to be fast and easy to use for golfers of all calibres and ages. Also great for the winter months, the ground gets hard and for some people it's hard to secure tees in the ground.
Caya describes them as "easy consistency."
EASY because they simply sit on top of the ground, so that a 2 year old or an 85-year old can easily tee it up. They closely resemble a shuttlecock from badminton and are made of sturdy plastic.
CONSISTENCY because the set is made up of 8 tees ranging in height from ¼ inch to 2 inches by ¼ inch increments. This offers a perfect consistent height for any size club (Driver, Woods, Hybrids & Irons) for golfers of all levels and ages, giving every golfer more confidence and consistency.
I gave Caya's Birtee Pro tees a try over the weekend and after getting a few blank stares from my playing partners, I was banging my 3-wood.
With inspiration from his mother, Caya invented the Birtee to help his father-in-law who had a hip replacement and was waiting for a second one, and also for his 3 year old son at the time, who also had problems pushing a regular tee in the ground at a constant height. Six years after the inspiration, the USGA has finally approved his new and improved version of the BIRTEE®, which is the BIRTEE PRO®.
The Birtee tees are very durable and hard to break so they don’t populate the tee off areas like wooden tees. They are also fully recyclable and they float, which means that they won’t pollute the bottom of ponds that may be close to tee off areas. This may seem trivial, but have you seen your local public golf course recently?
They are perfect for amateur gofers of all levels, but I would recommend blind, junior and handicapped golfers everywhere use these from this moment on. Blind golfers say they are easy to find after hitting their shots and juniors will be able to tee it up quickly and easily.
Just recently, golf associations around the world have embraced the Birtee for use in some of their sanctioned events.
"Brilliant, Ingenious, Revolutionary Tee! These are the words that spring to my mind to describe the new BIRTEE PRO. I first discovered this fabulous invention at our recent Inaugural Pan-Disabled Scotland v England match at the Slaley Hall Resort, Northumberland, England," says Stevie Cunningham, team captain of the Scotland Team. The event took place October 7th-9th, 2011. A set of 8 tees runs for less than ten bucks. I consider that a bargain. Give them a try and see what you think.
