Properly shaped eyebrows will accent your eyes and face shape, and create a professional look. Shaping your eyebrows can be done at home by plucking with tweezers or waxing. Examine your eyebrows before shaping. Notice their natural shape and arch. The perfect eyebrow shape will accent the features of the natural shape, not dramatically change it. Do not over-pluck with tweezers or wax your eyebrows too thinly. Ultra-thin eyebrows will not complement any face shape and look unnatural. Find your natural arch. On some people it is visible without shaping, but if it is not take a pencil and find the diagonal line that goes through the center of your iris from your nose and into your eyebrow. To determine where your brows should start and end, use the same technique used to determine the proper placement for your arch. Take a pencil and diagonally place it at the inner corner of the eye, this will show the proper starting point for your brows. As well as using the same steps place the pencil on the outer edge of your eye and this should be where your eye brow should end. Trim your eyebrows if they are overly long or thick. To insure proper trimming, brush your eyebrows up and with beauty scissors trim the excess off the top. Do not trim into the brow as this will cause an uneven look and the hairs to grow straight out. After shaping and trimming your eyebrows, next to create the perfect brow and a polished look fill in your brows. Frame face and lift eyes by using a brow powder, pencil or gel brush which also keeps brows in place. Beauty insider tip is to fill top of brow more than bottom of brow, and to use gentle short strokes to create a natural look. Have a professional shape your eyebrows the first time if you are unsure you can get the desired results. Once you get the initial perfect eyebrow shape, all you have to do is maintain it.
