Earthquakes slide past the Dynamo, 2-0

The San Jose Earthquakes managed to beat the Houston Dynamo, 2-0, Saturday night at Buck Shaw Stadium in front of  9270 fans.

The torrential rain subsided as the Earthquakes, on a goal by Steven Lenhart, his first as an Earthquake at the 69th minute, pushed past the Dynamo on a field that the rain had punished from all-day storms prior to game time.

A great cross by Steven Beitashour  enabled Lenhart to put the header past Houston goalkeeper, Tally Hall, for the Earthquakes first score.

Simon Dawkins added another Earthquake goal in the 91st minute to secure the match.

The Earthquakes are now unbeaten in their last five matches and have reached the .500 mark, at 4-4-4, for the first time since April 2nd.

Jon Busch, in goal for the Earthquakes, was able to consistently deflect any attempts on goal and was virtually untested for most of the evening.
