A 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit 34 miles northwest of Richmond Virginia around 1:51 pm and was felt in Washington DC and as far south as Columbia SC. A 3.0 aftershock was felt in Charlotte, NC. The Pentagon and the Capitol were evacuated. A news building, WBTV, was even shaken for about ten seconds. People as far away as Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Gerogia, Tennessee and Alabama reported feeling the tremor. This has been the biggest quake to hit Virginia since 1897.
There would be those who will more than likely jump on the bandwagon and say this is a sign from Heaven of God's wrath and Judgement and He will be back shortly. The Bible does speak of things of this nature happening and happening more frequently, but the Bible does say that no one knows the day as well. What most doomsday prophets tend to miss about the whole Jesus coming back debate is the idea behind the secrecy, which is for those who believe to be ready. The Bible does give us signs to look out for, but only to encourage our being ready, not to pin point a date. Should you run out and sell everything you own? No. Should this encourage you to be a little more serious about what you believe? Well, sometimes everyone needs a little motivation.
