April 19 - Sierra Club Earth Day 5K Race and Walk. Runners, walkers, families, and dogs on leash are welcome at the Sierra Club Earth Day 5K Race and Walk at Quiet Waters Park. The race takes place on Saturday, April 19, at 8:30 AM. Pre-registration on site between 7:30 and 8:15 AM or on the Sierra Club website. The fee is $25 until April 14 or $30 on race day. Admission to the Park is free for all Earth Day activities.

April 12 - ArtQuest. ArtQuest is the largest, most community inclusive student art exhibition in the State of Maryland. Come see Mr. Bell's 5th National Rising Star award winner in painting, an award presented to just one student artist in the nation, along with his 5 Scholastic National Medalists in Photography and hundreds of other amazing student participants in over 60 categories. Free.

April 19 - PAAL Presents: Brooks Tegler Big Band. Brooks Tegler will recreate the magic of Shaw's rendition of Porter's "Begin the Beguine" and many other Porter tunes as interpreted by Shaw such as what is This Thing Called Love? , Night and Day, My Heart Belongs to Daddy, along with Gershwin tunes as interpreted by Shaw's great vocalist Helen Forrest and Mel Torme. Tickets are $27.

April 22 - Concert to Benefit Connor Cares Foundation. Empty Houses, Reality Check and Efflorescence Present an Evening of Music to Benefit The Connor Cares Foundation at Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge. Connor Cares Foundation, created after the tragic drowning of five-year-old Connor Freed, donates defibrillators and aims to bring awareness regarding water safety. Donations $7 at the door.

April 17 - April 19 - Colonial Players presents 'Bat Boy: The Musical'. This off-beat musical is a mix of gothic horror and big-hearted satire of small town personalities set to a peppy, melodic, pop rock score. The musical is a hilarious send-up of traditional musicals and all the love-overcomes-all themes you've ever witnessed in theater or the movies. $20.April 18 - I'm Not All The Way There Yet. Christian Entertainer Red Dott is the stage name of Chris Dillard, a rapper, comedian, host and actor from Pioneer City, Maryland representing the DMV. Dott has made his start winning local school talent shows and being favored by his peers because of his comedy and hot rhymes and lyricism. $20.
