Although Earth Day is officially on April 22 each year, many organizations celebrate Earth throughout the entire week surrounding April 22. Check out these Earth Day activities for kids and families happening in the upstate for 2011.
Friday, April 22, 2011 - Official Earth Day
- Earth Day Toy Collection for Toy Banker: Parents and kids can donate new and gently used toys at the Toy Banker tent in front of Whole Foods on Woodruff Road from 8am-4pm.
Saturday, April 23, 2011
- Kids Club Earth Day Scavenger Hunt at Whole Foods: From 10am-5pm, kids can search for Sprouty, Whole Food's Earth Month mascot.This activity is free.
- Spring Wildflower Walk at Jones Gap State Park: Register by Friday, April 23 for this one mile walk to learn about wildflowers and other elements of nature at Jones Gap State Park in Greenville County.
- The Great Coth Diaper Change: Natural Baby in Greenville is the local sponsor for this world wide event. Parents can sign up for free to take part in an attempt to set the Guinness Book of World Records for changing cloth diapers simultansously. The Great Cloth Diaper Change event takes place from 11:30am-2pm.
- Earth Day Spring Feast Demo: Taste free samples at Whole Foods on Woodruff Road in Greenville, SC from 1-3pm.
