Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s big wreck at the Daytona International Speedway Friday during testing runs for the official race ended up impacting 12 drivers, Inquisitr reports Jan. 11.

When Earnhardt tried bumping draft with Marcus Ambrose. When his front bumper got underneath Ambrose's rear bumper, it lifted his car up "like a forklift"-- slamming it into the wall. Other drivers were affected by the big wreck, including Jeff Gordon, Kasey Khahne, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Aric Almirola, Regan Smith and Brad Keselowski.

”It was a big mess and tore up a lot of cars down here trying to work on their stuff," Earnhardt, Jr. said. "Definitely the drafting is not like it used to be. You can’t really tandem certain cars; certain cars don’t match up well.”

Fortunately no one was injured during the wreck, but a lot of cars were damaged and testing had to be wrapped up for the day.

According to Sports Illustrated, manufacurers are making race cars with "less downforce." Jeff Gordon said this means drivers may have to change their techniques when operating the new vehicles.
