Early voting underway for Clark County Municipal general elections

Early voting for cities in Clark County, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite and Boulder City began this past Saturday and runs through June 3, 2011 in advance of the June 7, 2011 General Election.

Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax says he expects about half of voters to cast ballots during the two weeks of early voting, and expects an overall turnout of only about 10 percent of registered voters. "More than 50 percent of the voters routinely vote in the early voting period," said Lomax

The race for Mayor in the City of Las Vegas between Carolyn Goodman and Chris Giunchigliani is expected to fuel a larger voter turnout of about 25 percent according to Lomax.
