Early morning thunderstorms, strong winds, and a cold front for Lafayette, LA

Strong winds will continue throughout the next few days. There will be an increase in cloud cover during the late hours of Monday along with winds from the Southwest between 10 and 15 miles per hour. The overnight temperatures will warm up some tonight with a low of 60 degrees. Tuesday will bring scattered thunderstorms in most of the area. A cold front will move in and push out the showers and cloudy skies dropping Tuesday and Wednesday evening’s temperatures back into the mid 30s.

Tuesday:
HIGH 67° / LOW 40°

Tuesday will windy most of the day. There is a 30 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms during the morning hours. During the early afternoon hours, the thunderstorms should start to subside and the sun will break through the clouds. The high for the day is 67 degrees with South and Southwest winds around 12 miles per hour in the morning. The winds will begin to grow stronger up to 21 miles per hour and shifting to the North and Northwest during the afternoon then tapering off in the evening. The low will be around 40 degrees.

Wednesday:
HIGH 59° / LOW 39°

Expect mostly sunny skies all day on Wednesday with very little chance of rain throughout the day. Temperatures will range from a high of 59 degrees and a low of 39 degrees. Expect the wind to be from the North 14 mph during the day and dropping down to 5 mph during the evening.

Thursday:
HIGH 63° / LOW 42°

Thursday promises little to no chance for showers and partly cloudy skies throughout the day. The high will be 63 degrees with a low of 42 degrees. Winds will be out of the Northeast at 6 mph. The evening winds will be out of the East at 2 mph.
