Three people end up at the hospital after a car flipped on Interstate 77 from a high speed chase this morning.
According to WBTV, an unmarked North Carolina Highway Patrol car saw the car in question around three in the morning going above the posted speed limit. The officer tried to stop the vehicle.
The chase continued until the 277 loop. When the vehicle was exiting the Interstate, a curb was hit, causing the car to hit a tree and overturn.
The three within the car were then taken to the hospital, one with life threatening injuries, and the other two with potentially life threatening injuries.
Trooper Dorty Jr says the driver was charged with DUI and will possibly have other charges added after the investigation.
As of the time of the accident, the identity of the driver was not known because of lack of a driver’s license. The identities of the others involved in the accident are being withheld at this time as well.
