It is that time of year in the south when every bass angler starts to itch. Not from allergies, but from the urge to get out of the house and out on the numerous lakes in South Carolina. Reports of late show that this is going to be a great year for fishing. Not only bass fishing, but whatever you are fishing for. Catfish to pan fish, you will not be unsatisfied this year. Some of the early warm weather is showing good patterns for catching largemouth bass.
Some things that you can do to make sure you have a productive fishing year are to watch and learn. You will be surprised what you can learn from watching the fishing shows that are on television. Many times you can find the professionals fishing in nearby lakes and you can take notes of what and where they are fishing. You can also go to Bass Pro Shops and learn a lot about whichever species of fish you are trying to catch. From sharks to bass, they have the best seminars for you to learn from.
Dust off all of your old gear or buy new fishing gear from your local Bass Pro Shops or outdoors store. There are a lot of incredible new rods, reels, lures and boats that you can buy to put you on the fish. You can also use your Iphones and other electronic devices to mark spots where you have had success. You can always take a notepad with you and write down what time of day, what bait and what type of weather you are doing well in.
