Sunday nights Eagles game against the Bears has no meaning at least as far as the standing are concerned. The Cowboys pulled off a a 24-23 win at the Washington Redskins earlier in the day

The Cowboys went into the game against the Redskins knowing if they lost and the Eagles won then their playoff hopes were over. At first it looked like the Cowboys were going to take care of business after they jumped off to a 14 - 6 lead. The Redskins then scored the next two touchdowns to make the score 20 - 14. They added a later field goal to make it 23 - 14 and seemed to be control of the game.

In the fourth quarter added a field goal to make the score 23 - 17 which set up some game heroics by Romo and the Cowboys. With 1:08 left on the clock the Cowboys were faced with a 4th down and goal at the 10 yard line. Romo lobbed a pass to DeMarco Murray who ran a sideline route and then dove into the end zone around the marker for the game tying touchdown. The Cowboys then added an extra point and took the lead for good.

The win gives the Cowboys an 8 - 7 record and puts them a half game behind the Eagles in the NFC East setting up a rematch in Dallas on Sunday December 29th for the NFC east division title.

Sunday's prime time game between the Eagles and the Bears which Eagle's fans hoped would be be for the title is now irrelevant as far as the NFC title goes. A win over the Bears however would give the Eagles the tie breaker against the NFC north should the Eagles beat Dallas and win the division.

Eagle's fans are still excited about the prospect of another win against the Bears.
