Eagles tie AJHL playoff series with Dragons

According to the Alberta Junior Hockey League website, the Canmore Eagles tied their Alberta Junior Hockey League South Division semifinal series with the Drumheller Dragons at one on Saturday night.

Trey Phillips of Okotoks, Alberta registered a goal and an assist as the Eagles defeated the Dragons 4-2 at the Canmore Recreation Centre, an hour west of Calgary.

Two other Eagles registered a multi-point game. Canmore forwards Nils Moser and Connor Wilson each had two assists. Wilson, who hails from Calgary, had 57 points in 60 regular season games for the Eagles this season.

The Canmore-Drumheller series now shifts to the Drumheller Memorial Arena on Monday.

Meanwhile in Brooks, Nick McCormack, Brandon Bruce and Dylan Plitt each notched a goal and an assist as Brooks hammered Olds 5-1 to take a 2-0 series lead.

In the North Division semifinals, Sherwood Park defeated Spruce Grove 2-1 in overtime at the Grant Fuhr Arena to take a 2-0 series lead, and Lloydminster defeated Fort McMurray 3-1 to tie their series at one.
